New Name and Broader Focus

The Academy moved into its new home at 50th and Dodge Streets to start the new 2016-17 school year.  With that move came a new name as the previous name, The International Montessori Jr-Sr High School, suggested that the school was simply a Montessori school for those interested in the Montessori method.  Instead, the school had attracted a following of students with learning differences.  The closest schools to Omaha that are dedicated to helping kids with learning differences are in Chicago, St Louis, and Denver.  The Roberts Academy is thrilled that this has become its focus as the Montessori teaching method is perfect for students with learning differences.

The school works with all kids; learning differences are not a requirement for enrollment.  Some of the students are enrolled at UNO while attending The Roberts Academy.  Helping each student to achieve his/her potential is the goal.

Recently the Academy was thrilled to receive from Joslyn Art Museum art scholarships through the Kent Bellows Mentoring Program.  Students are encouraged to unleash their artistic talents and create a portfolio under the direction of professional artist mentors.

The school is looking forward to creating more partnerships in the future.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
